Abrasion-Resistant Grades We Stock

Wear plate is low-alloy, water-quenched steel with a hard martensitic surface and a tough core. The higher the Brinell number, the longer the service life in sliding-abrasion service.

  • NM360 / AR360 — 360 HBW for mild-abrasion liners and structural wear parts.
  • NM400 / AR400 — 400 HBW, the general workhorse for buckets and hoppers.
  • NM450 / AR450 — 450 HBW for conveyors and scraper blades.
  • NM500 / AR500 — 500 HBW for crusher liners, blade plates and wear shoes.
  • Hardox-equivalent — 400/450/500/600 HBW precision wear plate.

Forms & Processing

We supply plate (6–100 mm), wear bars, overlay (chromium-carbide) plate and fabricated liners. Cutting, bending and welding use low-heat, pre-heat procedures to protect the hard layer. Pair with our Carbon Steel Supplier e Alloy Steel Supplier for structural back-up.

Applications & Sectors

Wear plate is used in mining, quarrying, cement, steel mill and material-handling equipment. For corrosion-plus-wear service, Metal Surface Treatment Guide and duplex grades in Duplex Vs Super Duplex may be combined with overlay plate.

Perguntas frequentes

What does NM400 mean?

NM stands for ‘wear-resistant’ (nai mo) in the Chinese GB/T 24186 standard; 400 is the nominal Brinell hardness (HBW). NM400 is the most common general-purpose AR grade.

Is wear plate the same as Hardox?

Hardox is a SSAB brand; NM360/400/500 are generic Chinese-standard equivalents with similar hardness. We supply both branded and equivalent non-branded wear plate.

Can wear plate be welded?

Yes, but use low-hydrogen electrodes, pre-heat to ~100–150 °C for thicker sections, and keep heat input low to avoid softening the heat-affected zone.

Do you cut and bend wear plate?

Yes. We provide CNC plasma/laser cutting, bending and fabricated liner kits. Bending needs wide radii because the plate is hard and not very ductile.
