Short answer: Nickel alloys resist heat and corrosion where stainless steel fails. Inconel (e.g. 600/625) keeps strength and oxidation resistance at high temperature; Monel 400 excels in seawater and hydrofluoric acid; Hastelloy C276 resists the harshest reducing acids. Choose by temperature and the specific chemical environment, and specify with full certification.

Why Nickel Alloys?
Nickel’s chemistry lets these alloys stay strong and resist scaling and corrosion far beyond stainless steel’s limits. They are the materials of last resort for extreme heat, pressure, and chemical attack – but they are costly, so selection must be precise to the service condition.
The Three Families
The chart contrasts the mains. Inconel (600/625) is the high-temperature, oxidation-resistant choice for turbines and furnaces. Monel 400 is the seawater and hydrofluoric-acid grade. Hastelloy C276 resists the most aggressive reducing acids and pitting. Each wins in its own environment.
Specifying for Corrosion or Heat
Match the alloy to the actual species and temperature: chlorides and heat point to Inconel 625; seawater to Monel; mixed acids and welds to Hastelloy C276. Always state the exact media, concentration, and temperature so the grade is right the first time.

Preguntas frecuentes
Inconel (high-temperature/oxidation resistance), Monel (seawater and HF acid resistance), and Hastelloy (resistance to aggressive reducing acids and pitting).
Use Inconel (e.g. 625) when service temperature or oxidation exceeds what stainless steel can handle, such as turbine, furnace, or exhaust duty.
Monel 400 is used in seawater, marine, and hydrofluoric-acid service where its corrosion resistance outperforms stainless steel.
Hastelloy C276 resists the harshest reducing acids, pitting, and crevice corrosion, and welds without needing post-weld heat treatment.
Give the grade (Inconel/Monel/Hastelloy series), form, dimensions, quantity, and the exact media/temperature plus any certification required.
