Short answer: 6063 is the quintessential architectural aluminum extrusion alloy — a 6xxx grade with about 0.7% magnesium and 0.4% silicon that balances moderate strength, superb extrudability and a brilliant anodised finish, making it the default for window frames, railings, T-slot and decorative profiles.

Composition & Temper
6063 is aluminium-magnesium-silicon with low alloy content, which is exactly why it extrudes so cleanly and anodises so brightly. It sits in our Aluminum Supplier family beside Aluminum Extrusion Supplier, 6082 Vs 6061 Aluminum ve Aluminum 6061 Properties. The common tempers are T5 (air-quenched, lower strength) and T6 (solution-heat-treated, stronger).
Why It Is the Extrusion Alloy
Its low hot strength lets it fill thin, complex dies at modest press force, so 6063 makes the intricate profiles — window and curtain-wall sections, T-slot framing, LED heat sinks — that higher-strength 6061 or 7075 Vs 6061 Aluminum would struggle with. After extrusion it takes a mirror or satin anodised finish (see Anodized Aluminum Guide); 6463 is a brighter variant for decorative anodizing. Strength context is in Yield Strength Vs Tensile Strength.
Where to Use It
Choose 6063 for anything where appearance, extrudability and corrosion resistance matter more than load — architectural glazing, handrails, enclosures, furniture and framing. When the section must also carry structural load, step up to Aluminum 5052 Properties only if formability is key, but usually 6061/6082 is the structural call. Surface finishing and corrosion planning are in Metal Surface Treatment Guide ve Galvanic Corrosion Guide.

6063 is the architectural extrusion alloy for window frames, curtain walls, handrails, T-slot framing, LED heat sinks and decorative profiles where finish matters.
No. 6061-T6 (about 310 MPa) is much stronger than 6063-T5/T6 (150-245 MPa); 6063 is chosen for extrudability and finish, not strength.
T5 means the extrusion was cooled and artificially aged without separate solution heat treatment — lower cost and strength than T6, the usual architectural temper.
Yes. HXSCO supplies 6063-T5/T6 and 6463 aluminum extrusions, standard T-slot and custom dies, with anodizing and mill certificates.
